Testing out Dad

Gene knows that Dad is on his way. He wants to make sure that he catches the Old Man up to speed before throwing him at David, although mainly for David's sake, not Dad's. Gene is strangely protective of the Cub, as he wants to make sure there aren't any weird freak outs. One can never be sure with those Howlett boys, after all, when their tempers might flare.

And so Gene is sitting outside the Institute on the lowered tailgate of a pickup, waiting for Logan to get there. He's got a six pack of his homebrew and a couple of cigars. He knows what Dad likes.
